BDHC is committed to providing a safe and positive experience for all players. We adopt England Hockey’s Safeguarding Policy, Reporting Procedures and Good Practice Guidance and implement locally to ensure that the safeguarding of players is our highest priority.

To ensure safeguarding is an integral part of our culture, we work hard to ensure all BDHC captains, coaches and volunteers have the necessary qualifications and safeguarding checks in place as set out by England Hockey’s Best Practices (including DBS checking).

BDHC have a trained Welfare Officers in place to support all players and promote welfare and safeguarding across the club. Our Welfare Officer is Sue Oakley who can be contacted here.

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility so if you have any safeguarding concerns or have worries about poor practice or abuse of young people, please help us by reporting this via the Safeguarding Referral form below. All safeguarding concerns are treated in confidence and shared only with those responsible for managing the concern and, where appropriate, escalated to England Hockey welfare according to their safeguarding policy.
