Conceding the toss was not such a big loss, as the elves of Bourne Deeping started the game not sleeping. Passing the ball well and enjoying possession, the visiting side was making an impression. Chances came and chances went, how would this afternoon be spent? Unlucky for the defence and a breakdown in midfield, the home side had a chance and they did not yield. Twisting and turning at the top of the circle, the shot went bottom corner and the moment was purple. The Dragons responded but could not break through, all the way until the halftime whistle blew.
Halftime: Havering HC 1-0 BDHC
Coming out of the blocks and straight on the attack, the ball found its way to Ben Slack. A treaded pass through to an unmarked Nick Glover, deflected the ball past the home sides deep cover. The cartwheels followed, the home crowd bellowed, but the dragons were back on the level. 1-1. Havering then pressed to give the Dragons unrest, they soon found themselves back in the lead with a fine shot indeed. 2-1. The Dragons continued to probe and to press, but the home side were determined to keep the game a success. The home team were chirpy and some tackles were dirty, Ben slack saw yellow as did a Havering fellow. The game continued after the cards were issued, with Havering on the attack causing trouble at the back. A short was awarded and the home crowed applauded, as the shot was deflected to leave the dragons dejected. 3-1. Two goals adrift the Dragons were miffed, with the Bourne Deeping elite continuing to compete. It was not to be as the home team extended to three, taking their goals to four with the Dragon keeper on the floor.
Final score: Havering HC 4-1BDHC
