The game against South Notts started brightly for the Dragons, seeing the side with yet more new additions enjoying lots of possession and continuing to gel. Mid way through the first period after a well worked passing move the Dragons were awarded a penalty corner. A slick injection and a solid stop was the perfect platform for Phil Arnold to release one of his fine drag flicks that was saved by a diving keeper. From this the dragons kept the pressure on and later tested the keeper again this time forcing him to make a fine diving stick save. Numerous chances kept coming the Dragon’s way, but the forwards were unable to put the ball past a very determined Notts keeper. The second half continued the same way as the first half went, with the Dragons continuing to test the South Notts stopper but unable to find a way past. Just as the game looked as if it was going to end in a draw, some accurate passing an a magical run from Matt Clarkson carving through the South Notts defence saw his brother Chris Clarkson with the ball coolly slotting the ball into the bottom corner securing the victory for the Dragons. Final score Bourne Deeping HC 1 – South Notts HC 0.
