Bourne ladies 2nd’s battled their first match away at St Ives 4th’s to a 1-2 win.

The Dragons first 20 minutes was all in great attacking spirit with posture and force between Murry, Martin and Collins, with Havemann waiting to pounce at every opportunity in the D. Out wide on the wings Finding and Mann ran the lines keeping St Ives players on their toes and under pressure. This finally paid off with a foot stop on the line by St Ives, therefore giving Bourne a deserved penalty flick with Havemann composure she converted into a first goal of the season.

St Ives settled and broke through the Dragons with a 2 on 1 to score a goal past Haile. Back on an attaching force The Dragons had a near miss from Bailey and Martin hit the post.

First half ending as a tie 1-1.

Second half started even but short sharp passes between Bourne made St Ives work. With Bailey’s debut game, fearless and firey down the wing battled to cross and send the balls numerous times into the D.

Ten minutes into second half Curtis stormed through the mid, with a top D strike on goal, taking score to 2-1. The Dragons overcome a few physical challenges, therefore had to apply their simple 2 on 1 skills to take the upper hand.

During the last ten 10 minutes Bourne seemed to be unsettled and St Ives applied pressure with short corners and shots when Hoile controlled the D along with the defenders of Barrett, Bowser Oakley and Curtis. A tense few minutes but a deserved end scoreline being 2-1 to Bourne.
