Mens 5 take early loss

Due to sponsors TV scheduling the 5's had to wait until 4.30 to get their league season underway. In the heat of the fading sun the dragons squad was significantly outnumbered and staring at much more experienced outfit.
In spells the dragons caused their hosts real difficulties with good movement and passing but when they rushed they all to often conceded possession and were punished.
Joe ashby made some fine saves and kept cambs at bay but a penalty corner drag-flick got lost in the sun and the deadlock broken.
Aaron waters offered width tommy armitage and joseph moisey linked well moving forward and harry wakeham and davin foston were determined in defence.
Having conceded again bourne deeping were awarded a penalty and tommy armitage was brave enough to step up when asked, but he was unable to convert.
In the second half the dragons had to dig deep for reserves of energy and holding the home team to 1 goal in the second half shows real promise for this group of players.
