After thrashing March 2’s the week before 6-1, BD 4’s came to the game full of confidence.
Despite late arrivals, we made a promising start creating chances in their ‘D’. We were unable to convert and suffered a further blow when our midfield dynamo Joe left the pitch with yet another injury.
Went into Half time 1-0 down and this could have been more painful without some excellent saves from keeper Joe.
We made a strong start to second half and saw a chance fall to Oakley who slotted away the equaliser. This should have been a turning point in the game but sadly the match turned against us with the slightly younger and fitter legs of COP who created and converted their chances in our ‘D’ scoring a further 3 goals.
Even when we tried to clear our line from 16’s, Baker’s piecing hit only managed to find the inside of Oakley’s leg.
It could have been a very different game if we had not squandered numerous chances to hit the back board or scoring 1 or 2 from the many short corners we had. Talking of short corners, the promise of refreshments at the George, will see the trio of Vartan, Goode and Moisey putting in the hours at training this week to calibrate Vartans PPE Scope.
BD 4’s will be back to their winning ways at home this week to St Ives.
