Cambs city 6’s 2-2 BDHC 4’s
This was set to be another tough ask for the Bourne Deeping men’s 4th team travelling away with a bare eleven against a full squad of sixteen.
Both halves followed a similar pattern ending a goal apiece with bourne Deeping taking the lead and conceding an equaliser. After the early exchanges the visitors established some control with most of the possession, interchanging well and constructing several chances. Rob Chorlton opened the scoring with a deft finish past the keeper from a tight angle, nothing more than was deserved. Cambs City has their moments in bourne Deeping territory but in the main were one dimensional. Their goal from their only short corner of the half was hard to stomach when visitors should have been comfortably ahead.
The second period saw a penalty stroke awarded to each team, both confidently converted with Joe Allen on the scoreboard for bourne Deeping. Again the lead slipped, legs tired and Jack Langley in goal making a couple of superb saves. At the other end numerous attacks in the red zone drawing fouls from the opposition went unrewarded and frustration set in.
Two points left on the pitch and a disappointing afternoon’s work, but lessons learned to take forward.
