BDHC 4ths vs Saffron Waldron

This was a highly conpetive game against opposition from a higher league in a different quadrant.
The 4ths turned up full of confidence with a couple of 5ths to bolster the numbers.
The first half started with high intensity and both sides going toe to toe. The combined back three of Davin, Lewis and Oscar sniffing out the attacks from Saffron Waldron.
The first goal came in the 2nd half when a Saffron Waldron forwards shot from out wide, beat four players and nestled into the far corner of the goal.
The goal, kick- started BDHC and some lovely passing from Tom(hungover), Andy, and Kev started putting pressure on Saffron Waldron. Rafa in midfield had an excellent away debut linking well with Ben and Tim upfront. The first goal came from the ever reliable Chris Mann who following good interchanges with Rafa and Ben slotting a shot past the keeper to make it 1-1. The next 15 minutes was constant pressure from BDHC with Rafa and Ben having good chances to score supported by Tom and Tim. Saffron Waldron then got a short corner which the unfortunate Lewis cleared to an attacker at the top of the D for the attacker to slice a powerful shot past the keeper (could have gone anywhere). Not giving up BDHC pressed forward and following a mazy dribble by Rafa, Chris Mann took on the ball, body swerving two defenders and rounding the keeper to make it 2-2. In the last 5 mins BDHC created more chances with Rafa one on one and Ben and Tim just inches wide and Lewis hitting the post from a short corner. Saffron Waldron knew they were in a game today and were lucky to get the draw. This bodes well for the 4ths who are aiming for promotion.
