This weeks Bourne Deeping mens 2nd team showcased the u18 talent so rapidly improving and developing into a potent force supported by a few experienced members. Once again an excellent approach to the game and faced by sharp and skilful opposition in March, it was the Dragons who drew first blood and it was Euan Johnson popping up at the right moment to open the scoring.
Possession was used intelligently to dictate play and restrict the March team easy possession. This certainly rocked March who hadn't expected the resistance from such a young side and it took them some time to adjust their line up.
As the half wore on the visitors found they groove and increased the pressure equalising and then edging ahead as the first half ended.
The second half commenced and the March side had their tails up for the win. Unfortunately Bourne Deeping had a 5 minute spell to forget during which they lost control of the match as March rattled in 3 quick goals to put the result beyond them.
To their total credit the whole squad dug in and were resilient in the face of some very good opposition. The midfield of H Brill, J Moisey, A Hutton, R Barden and E Moisey continued to respond with energy and skill and Joseph Moisey added another goal to his tally of recent weeks although had to warn his younger brother not to steal it from 15cm.
Joe Garner yet again delivered a defensive master class, but could not repel all attacks, Alex Hutton covered huge distance with and without the ball as he ensured March did not have it all their own way.
7.2 loss but other than 5 minutes, this was a well contested high quality and enjoyable encounter in division 3NW.
