Match report.
On Saturday 10th October, Bourne Deeping travelled to Long Sutton, expecting an intense game. Onto the surprisingly lovely fast pitch, albeit with a little bit of a skip here or there which took a few minutes to get used to.
The game started fast, a complete opposite situation to the week before. The opposition they stuck to their 1 man high with an ariel over the top, followed by a classic smash in for a tip in from a couple of faster players. First half saw Bourne play some truly brilliant hockey, with some class finishes from Charlie Butler. If only Oscar could hit from the top of the D he might be on the score sheet, absolutely solid game though. Second half, Bourne took a while to score, but were doing all the right things. Long Sutton didn't like the hard pressure. Although Viddy made some questionable first touches, he had a good game, as indeed should be said for EVERY member of the team. Archie using his pace (something somewhat lacking with the majority of the team) to great effect and getting stuck in. Will producing some fine dribbling and a rather fine drag flick at the end with Angus being left open mouthed. Bourne Deeping should hold their heads high after a truly brilliant performance.

BDHC 3rds ventured east into the fens for a challenging fixture against March 2nds.
A much changed, and much younger 3rds, with debutants Henry Stainsby, Theo Collins, Toby McCoy and Charlie Dobson stepping up to the challenge.
March were quick off the blocks and even with numerous saves from Ethan Foster in goal, and with Ben Rudman’s and Paul Matthew’s leadership and dogged defending at the back, the 3rds soon found themselves 3 down within the first 15 minutes.
The pressure continued but neither heads nor efforts dropped, and tireless running from Richard Barden and Sam Bradshaw in the middle, and Wayne Staff from the bench stemmed the tide.
However at 5-0 at the break it was time for a Churchillian speech from Peter Moisey to rally the troops.
BDHC came out rejuvenated and a superb second half performance from Toby McCoy, linking well with Theon and Charlie helped the 3rds show more fight as they made several forays into the opposition D resulting in numerous short corners, but to no avail.
Thomas Duff and Henry continued to stay close to their men, and their efforts were valiant however March did manage to score another, before Anthony Stainsby rattled the backboard from a short corner with the last touch of the game for consolation goal for 6-1.
