As the final whistle blew on the 2024-5 hockey season at Bourne Deeping it was the ladies teams leading the celebrations.
The Ladies first team secured promotion as champions with a week to spare, posting a goal difference of more than double their nearest rivals, while the Ladies 2nd team continued to improve their league standing, finishing 5th overall after coming back from 3-1 down to take a point in a thrilling 4-4 draw.
Over on the men's side there was a feeling of what might have been with both the 1st and 3rd teams narrowly missing out on promotions in their final matches. Meanwhile the 2s managed to stave off relegation with a final day win, though the 4s were relegated after recent promotion. The newly formed 5th team showcased the skills of the talented youngsters coming through and will look to feed those players through the system as thoughts already turn to next season.
