Bourne Deeping mens 3s are enjoying an excellent run of performances so far this season and when Richard Gray, back to goal and on a hatrick, played the simple pass to create an easy finish for his captain it underlined the focus within the squad.
In the autumn sunshine for their latest fixture against Newmarket, Bourne Deeping set about their task, Alex Middlemiss given the freedom of the right side created numerous good opportunities and penalty corners. Although the visiting keeper made a number of excellent saves, there was nothing he could do as Richard Gray found the corners first from penalty corner and then open play.
Chances came and went begging and the dragons were made to pay as they turned over posession and the alert newmarket forward neede no second invitation.
Nothing to be worried about, Davin Foston, James & Lewis Gray and Alex combined smart passes and advanced seemingly at will. Mark Cox added the deserved third goal for his attacking dominance. Paul Blackler was agonisingly close, before Pete Moisey slotted the 4th.
Gray was not to be denied his hattrick though as he rounded off the scoring with a first time finish at the near post.
The home side soaked up some late pressure but Knipe, Wilmot, Foston & Barden were well on top allowing Dylan Criddle to command his area and clear any further danger.
