4th Nov at The Pavilion, Louth - Match report and results

We had a fabulous day's hockey today. Our players were totally committed and they fought so hard in every game. The games were fast and intensive, and there was absolutely no let-up until the final whistles. Considering it was our players first fixture of the season and their first time playing together competitively in those specific teams, they were well disciplined in holding their playing positions and they displayed some very good team work. We saw mature interlinking play in attack and good communication between the players overall. It bodes very well for this season and our teams will be very competitive in the leagues.

In the A league, once again the playing standard this year is very high and it's going to be a hard-fought, tight league. That said, our Dragons were completely in the mix today with 3 draws and one close loss. The Dragons are a very strong team and, as the season progresses and they build their play, I expect to see them right up there fighting for top position. In the C league, our Griffins dominated today and won every match without conceding a single goal. Short-corner practice in training yesterday really paid off with a number of very impressive, slick goals perfectly executed - more of that training please Sue! In their mini-league debuts today, Nathaniel scored 4 goals and Kristian scored a hat-trick - fantastic play. Today's games were a great spectacle to watch and our teams really delivered - well done all.
